Bedford Road over Baboosic Brook – NHDOT #15841 – Merrimack, NH

April 17, 2025

This 90-foot span steel girder bridge on integral abutments replaced a severely undersized and deteriorated CMP. Work included the replacement of a 12-inch water main supported between the girders. Approximately 1100 linear feet of the roadway was reconstructed including elevating the roadway 6.5 feet to mitigate overtopping. This reconstruction included a 300-foot sheet pile retaining wall to accommodate the elevated profile within 25 feet of the existing brook. Traffic control was an on-site single lane detour road and bridge that utilized temporary traffic signals.
