As part of an on-call contract with the New Hampshire Department of Transportation, Turner Group completed a highway maintenance facilities and salt sheds in Derry, NH. In addition to the building design, our team also performed the associated civil and site design work necessary to move the project forward.

The new pre-engineered metal building house 12 maintenance bays, administrative offices, locker rooms, a tool crib, a break room, a mechanical room, and storage areas. There is also a 2,400-square-foot mezzanine used for storage.

The slab design includes a radiant heating system. The primary heat source for the building is wood with propane backup, which enables the NHDOT to meet its sustainability and energy efficiency goals. The fuel monitoring station was relocated to the new maintenance building and the existing buildings remained operational throughout construction.
