Turner Group (TTG) was selected by SAU #53 to lead a comprehensive master planning effort for the Armand R. Dupont Middle School and Allenstown Elementary School. The team began with an in-depth review of existing conditions, engaging closely with school administrators, educators, and community stakeholders to understand the district’s current and long-term needs.
Following the review and a series of collaborative meetings, multiple options were evaluated, including renovations and additions to the existing schools. It became clear that a new combined facility would offer the greatest long-term value, efficiency, and educational opportunity for the community.
TTG led the design, providing conceptual and schematic layouts that reflected staff input and supported flexible, modern learning environments. This early phase included a complete site assessment, fit testing, and cost modeling for multiple conceptual options. This effort, combined with community feedback and long-range planning goals, led to the development of the new two-story K–8 school designed to bring elementary and middle school students together under one roof.
The building incorporates sustainable, high-performance systems, including a displacement air ventilation system with dehumidification for enhanced air quality, energy efficiency, and overall occupant comfort. Abundant daylight, durable materials, and an intuitive layout create a healthy and inspiring environment for students and staff.
TTG’s final schematic design was submitted to the New Hampshire Department of Education as part of the successful School Building Aid Program application. The schematic design earned positive remarks from the state and played a crucial role in securing funding. With strong community support and a favorable vote, the Town of Allenstown advanced the project into construction.
The new Allenstown K–8 School officially opened its doors in April 2024, marking a major milestone for the community and a bold step forward in delivering high-quality education in a purpose-built, future-ready facility.
