The Turner Group, in collaboration with Bonnette, Page & Stone (BPS), was selected by the Town of Belmont to provide architectural, engineering, and construction management services for the new Belmont Police Department. With a project budget of $3.5 million and a final contract value of $3 million, construction began in October 2020 and was completed in January 2022.
The original police station could no longer meet the operational, security, and space demands of Belmont’s growing community. In response, the project team designed an efficient, cost-effective, two-story, 8,500-square-foot facility tailored to the town’s available site and long-term needs. A key challenge was constructing the new building adjacent to the fully operational existing station—a task the team managed seamlessly, ensuring uninterrupted public safety operations throughout construction.
The new facility houses a modern communications and dispatch center, secure holding cells, interview and evidence storage rooms, training areas, administrative offices, a secure vehicle transfer port, and clearly defined public access areas. Additional features include a town Emergency Operations Center, elevator, ADA-compliant access, and a radiant heating system. A portion of the original station was preserved for storage, integrating a piece of the town’s history into the new design.
TTG and BPS worked closely with Town Officials and the Building Committee, maintaining strong collaboration to keep the project on time, on budget, and aligned with the community’s goals.
